Today, the Federal Council appointed Anna Fontcuberta-Morral as the new president of EPFL. Succeeding Martin Vetterli on January 1st 2025, she will be the first woman chosen for this position 🙌
Professor Fontcuberta i Morral is an eminent scientist who established the Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials as a world leader in sustainable nanotechnologies and co-founded the successful start-up Aonex Technologies.
As Associate Vice President for Centers and Platforms at EPFL, she is already involved in EPFL’s academic administration. She has worked with the Swiss National Science Foundation for over eight years and has been a member of its Research Council since 2020.
